CITI Training

CITI Training is the required program to be taken by all CUNY researchers and key personnel prior to involvement in human subjects research. It is strongly advised that all PIs and key personnel complete this training prior to protocol submission. The course may take between 4-5 hours to complete, but can be done over a period of days. The training certificate is valid for 3 years, and upon expiration can be renewed by completing a much shorter refresher course.

For more information on this training, please go to or directly to for the training course.

Register under CUNY, and select the appropriate Learner Group. If this is your first time registering for CITI, select the "Basic" course. If you completed the Basic course and need to take the refresher modules, please select the "Refresher" course instead. Do not select "Refresher" if you have not completed the Basic course. If you have questions about which course to take or how to register, please feel free to Contact Us.
