The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) meets throughout the year to discuss student behavior on our campus. It’s mission is to promote safety. BIT monitors problematic behavior by providing consultation, referral and support to campus faculty, staff and students. It is important to refer the names of students who appear to be acting bizarrely or seem to be in need of further evaluation by BIT. It should be noted that BIT is not a disciplinary committee. Students referred may not be violating any student code of conduct. Rather, these are students who you believe are acting in a way that appears strange, bizarre or uncharacteristic of a City Tech student.

It is the hope of the team that through early detection, support and intervention the committee can prevent problems before they occur. Most referred students will be offered campus support. You may be contacted for feedback about students who are brought to the attention of BIT. If BIT determines that the student presents a risk to themselves or others, further protective action could be initiated.

All are welcome.
