Faculty Commons, A Center for Teaching, Learning, Scholarship and Service coordinates all professional development, grants and assessment activities of faculty at New York City College of Technology. Faculty Commons adopts a programmatic approach to professional development and operates as a faculty resource and think tank where members collaborate on a variety of projects to shape curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) helps faculty and administrators compete for and win grants that strengthen the intellectual climate and improve the learning environment at City Tech. The office provides notices of grant opportunities and works with faculty and administrators over the life-cycle of a grant – from concept development through close-out.
The Professional Activity Report and Self-Evaluation (PARSE) is the documentation of a faculty member’s accomplishments during each academic year and cumulatively, in the three principal areas of teaching, scholarly and professional growth, and service. The PARSE serves as the basis for the annual evaluation. It is also provides faculty with an instrument to present to departmental and college review committees for reappointment, tenure, and promotion.
After meeting virtually for two years, we are excited to host the 21st annual CUNY IT Conference in person at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice on December 1-2. We hope you are planning to be there!
With a theme of “The Power and Perils of Scripting,” we invite you to join us and explore ideas such as:
What opportunities are there for a smooth, scripted user experience as students proceed through their educational lifecycle – from prospect to alum?
What scripts are faculty already using or dreaming about to make course design and curriculum design better?
How do we ensure that processes support equity, diversity, and inclusion when automating them through scripts?
Finding ways to automate time-consuming processes? Show off your scripted automations and help your colleagues streamline and serve students better.
Don’t wait until the last minute — register early and block off your calendar for December 1-2! If you need any assistance registering or have any questions, please contact Jeremy Smith, firstname.lastname@example.org
IMPORTANT: You will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination or negative PCR test result taken within 7 days of the conference dates in order to attend the 2022 CUNY IT Conference. If you have questions about this requirement please contact Jeremy Smith, email@example.com
