The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) helps faculty and administrators compete for and win grants that strengthen the intellectual climate and improve the learning environment at City Tech. The office provides notices of grant opportunities and works with faculty and administrators over the life-cycle of a grant – from concept development through close-out.
Faculty are invited to attend a workshop about the Open Textbook Library, "a catalog of free, peer-reviewed, and openly-licensed textbooks" developed at the University of Minnesota. Turnitin is an online tool to check plagiarism against a paper's originality. It checks a paper against many sources, including online journals, newspapers, and even previously submitted student papers. In addition to checking for plagiarism, the tool can be used to help improve student writing. Turnitin can be used within Blackboard or on its own

T.R. Simon, author of the Edgar Award –nominated children’s book Zora and Me: The Cursed Ground, and musician/composer Khuent Rose participate in a community conversation about storytelling in Africana communities.
The event also includes student presentations, a musical selection by Rose on the steel pan, a book signing by Simon, and a reception.
