The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) helps faculty and administrators compete for and win grants that strengthen the intellectual climate and improve the learning environment at City Tech. The office provides notices of grant opportunities and works with faculty and administrators over the life-cycle of a grant – from concept development through close-out.

An Introduction to Difficult Dialogues in (and out of) the Classroom

In an increasingly polarized country where all of us tend to stay within our own identity groups, how do we strive to transform conflict across difference? What are the skillsets that we need to practice in order to understand conflict and, more importantly, each other? In and out of our classrooms, how can we create and facilitate “brave space,” where students can listen with resilience to multiple points of view without feeling unsafe? In this Teaching Matters session, participants can expect an interactive experience where we will discuss and practice: • how to co-create and hold brave space with students; • tips for facilitating/holding difficult conversations; • space to share knowledge: what practices do folks already utilize?
