Abstract: In the last couple of years, Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a predominant buzzword, especially after the release of ChatGPT. Generative AI (GenAI) is a subfield of AI focused on developing models that can generate new content, such as images, text, audio, or even video. ChatGPT is a GenAI model. This talk explains the basics of GenAI and how it differs from other traditional AI and machine learning models. It describes GenAI’s immense potential in various domains, including art generation, content creation, text completion, design, and more. Moreover, it explains GenAI limitations and associated risks. Finally, it will examine ways to mitigate these risks and prevent misuse, including responsible usage strategies, addressing social biases, intellectual property, privacy concerns, and ethical considerations.
