Farrukh Zia (Computer Engineering Technology) guided two separate student teams to impressive wins at the 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Conference hosted at Stony Brook University on April 5, 2025. Shiou Ching Chen and Majida Naz won second place for their research paper on the development of an assistive technology system that allows control of a robotic arm using only mouth movements. Shajib Ahsan and Afroza Aktar won first place in the sumo-bot competition. Read more here and here.
