Assistant and Associate Professors may apply for three credits of release time via the Post Tenure Resigned Time Assistant Program (PTRT Program). The program follows the guidelines of the PSC-CUNY Research Award Program.
Completed applications must include a three-page project description, an approval letter from their department chair, and an approval letter from their dean.

A City Tech NOI is not required prior to submission of a PTRT Program proposals.
PI must submit PTRT Program application in PTRT Program Grant Proposal system by December 1, 2025. This application system is only for PTRT Program. City Tech OSP will review applications and will contact PI with feedback if any updates/changes are needed. If no changes are needed OSP will approve the application after December 15.
Assistant and Associate Professors may apply to both PSC-CUNY Research Award Program and PTRT Program, but may only receive one award in any given cycle. Release time can be used during 2027 or 2028 academic year.
