This project advances valuable societal outcomes, primarily by nurturing a new generation of scientists able to move easily between disciplines as varied as quantum information science, engineering, physics, high-performance simulations, and materials science. The PIs will use the minority-serving institution New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) campus resources to support outreach efforts that attract substantial numbers of female, underrepresented minority, and first-generation college students to aid in the completion of project activities. This project contributes to the development of a sustainable pipeline for talented students including those from underrepresented groups to pursue interdisciplinary STEM careers.
