CUNY CUE Conference 2018

Welcome to the 2018 CUNY CUE Conference that will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Medgar Evers College, located at 1638 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225. This year’s theme, STEAM for the Global Economy, or how “The World Runs on STEAM,” will serve as an approach to learning that reveals for students the numerous applications of steam technology through the multiple lenses of Science, Technology, Engineering, and the Arts. The conference’s goals are to inspire students to think critically, engage in experiential learning, problem solve, embrace collaboration, and work creatively

The arena of the annual CUE conference represents a wonderful opportunity to share evidence-based practice across CUNY under the umbrella of this year’s theme of STEAM. Aimed at elevating student success, retention and graduation, and effective transfer, the 2018 CUE Conference will focus on improving student outcomes in developmental and gateway courses, with special attention directed at acceleration models and the impact on advancing equity through effective models.

CUE Conference 2017: Accelerating Progress, Accelerating Equity: Improving Student Success in Developmental and Gateway Courses

The CUNY CUE Conference 2017 will be held on May 5, 2017 at Borough of Manhattan Community College located at 199 Chambers Street, New York, NY 10007. The Conference is focused on Accelerating Progress, Accelerating Equity: Improving Student Success in Developmental and Gateway Courses. The annual CUE conference is an opportunity to share evidence-based practice across CUNY aimed at improving student success, retention and graduation, and successful transfer. The CUE Conference 2017 will focus on improving student outcomes in developmental and gateway courses, with special attention to acceleration models and the impact on advancing equity through effective models.

CUE Conference 2015: Engaging for Impact: CUNY as a Catalyst for Change

Since 1847, CUNY has served as one of the single most important avenues to upward mobility in the nation, enrolling over 270,000 degree-seeking students annually. Although the numbers of students and institutions have grown, CUNY has remained committed to intellectual and leadership development, professional preparation, and social action. However, evolving technologies and the rate of change are affecting the CUNY mission in exciting, positive, and challenging ways.

This year’s CUE conference—Engaging for Impact: CUNY as a Catalyst for Change—shall explore the innovations, collaborations, and actions in undergraduate education that will prepare global citizens for the 21st century.
